Barcaldine castle is located 20 minutes north of Oban off the main A828 Oban to Fort William road at Benderloch. Take the Tralee road at the school and after 1.5 miles turn right at the Eriska crossroads.
The nearest airport is Glasgow (90 miles, 2.5 hours). Flybe and Easy Jet fly into Glasgow and Ryanair fly into Glasgow Prestwick in Ayrshire which is 3+hrs drive from the castle. We are 110 miles from Edinburgh, a 3 hour drive.
Accommodation check in time is 4pm, check out 10.30am.
Children/disabled guests: Please note that the function rooms are on the first floor of the castle which involves a climb of 15 wide spiral stairs which have a good handrail and are safe. The very elderly may find the stairs difficult, small children must be supervised and wheelchairs have to be carried. There are no toilets on the same floor as the function room and toilet access is via the stairs.
Payment/cancellation: Prices on the web site are an indication of the level of our prices for budget purposes. All functions are quoted individually in writing, usually following a viewing of the castle. On booking you will be asked to pay a non refundable deposit of one third of the cost of your function plus £100 per accommodation room booked. The balance of payment is due on check out. We accept card, cheque and cash payments, however cheques for final balances must be paid 1 week prior to event date.
A legally binding contract will be issued for all weddings exceeding £1000 in price.
Bookings are taken up to 18 months in advance.
